Graduated from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California, 1978 with Master of Arts (Religion).

Some work on Ph.D. degree program completed (1994-1999).

Larry Pierson

Larry and his wife Ruth Ann moved to Jamestown in early August, 2003,

 after living and working in ministry in the Albuquerque, N.M. area for 29 years.
”I’m very excited to be back to ministering full-time,” said Pierson. For the last few years, he had been ministering part-time, while teaching college courses for several universities in the Southwest, he said. “I’m glad to be doing this again, and to be in a town that is very value-centered. Everyone here has been friendly and this is a comfortable place to be.”

Pierson was born and raised on a farm near Jamestown, Ohio, before being ordained as a minister in 1964. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cincinnati Bible College and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University. Since 1963, he has served as youth minister, associate minister, involvement minister and preaching minister with six congregations in three states. He has also administered seminars and special events in 11 states and 4 countries, and spent a month teaching at a Christian college in Haiti. He and his wife have been married 42 years and have two grown children.

Though he’ll hold a top position, Pierson said his methodology will be team-oriented. “Right now, I’m just getting familiar with the congregation and trying to come up with ideas about how we can grow to be more Christ-like,” he said. “We’ll try to make Bible values natural habit and not forced structure, and do it as a team.”
